Markets

The Tairua markets are an exciting place to purchase local handcrafts, produce, baked goods and art. 

The markets are located at the Tairua Town hall, and is a leisurely stroll across the bridge from the main town centre. 

The markets can get really popular especially during the holiday times so we recommend walking rather than driving as it can sometimes be dangerous parking on the main road, especially if you have young children. 

Many locals frequent the markets, as they buy vegetables and products that may not be normally available in the local shops. 

The markets are held on the first Saturday of every month. 

At other times of year, there is often other markets that are held. The fire station holds one normally during the Easter weekend. These are often good markets to attend plus they help raise funds for the local volunteer fire brigade.
